Film Grad Wins Best Documentary at CCI-IFF San Diego

Frank Zarrillo recently won Best Documentary at San Diego Comic-Con Film Festival for The Wrestler: A Q.T. Marshall Story. Over the course of the film’s development, Frank served as the director, producer, editor, and director of photography. His most recent job was on The Savant, where he served as an associate producer.

Katrina Mena Rick is the production manager for Disney Parks Broadcast Production department. Before this, she was the casting director for the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Game Design master’s grad Juliana Goriounov has become a game designer at Ubisoft. Prior to her current role, she worked as a user research analyst on Far Cry 5, and at Ubisoft as a junior game designer.

Grad Nominated for Best Latin Children’s Album

Recording Arts grad Raul Diaz has been nominated for a Latin Grammy for his work on “BIM BOM BAM” featured on the show Payasitas Nifu Nifa. Raul is the songwriter, recording engineer, production assistant, and synth programmer on the record.

Mateo Barragan on ‘Deadpool 2,’ ‘Empire,’ ‘La La Land,’ and more

Recording Arts grad Mateo Barragan is a Los Angeles-based audio engineer with credits on film productions like Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and video games like Life is Strange 2. Mateo was also recognized for his contributions to Vicente Fernández’s 2016 Grammy award-winning record Un Azteca En el Azteca, Vol. 1 (En Vivo).

New Media Journalism master’s grad Steven Winkelman is currently a mobile analyst for PCMag. Previously, he was a staff writer at Digital Trends, where he covered topics related to the mobile industry.

Entertainment Business grad Finis Terry-Robinson is the creative services director at KLFY NEWS 10. He was previously a promotions producer with KLFY NEWS 10 before being promoted to his current role.

Dr. Michael Commini, a graduate of the Education Media Design & Technology master’s program, is currently based in Saudi Arabia where he guides workshops that educate and instruct companies on the development of C-Maps (Competency Maps) for professional development.
